Editorial and review policy

Bacteriostatic water is a clinical product, so our content is held to a clinical standard. This page explains how we source, write, and review what you read here, and who is responsible for it.

Primary sources only

Every clinical statement on this site is drawn from primary or authoritative sources. That means the manufacturer's official label, the FDA prescribing information via DailyMed, and the United States Pharmacopeia. Anything about composition, storage, or safety traces back to one of those. Where a source doesn't state something, we don't either. We would rather leave a gap than fill it with something unverified.

Named clinical review

Clinical content is reviewed by a named, credentialed pharmacist before it carries a reviewer's name. English-language content is reviewed by Jaspal Mann, Superintendent Pharmacist. Spanish-language content is reviewed by Damianys Almenares López, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. A reviewer's name appears on a page only in connection with a genuine review of that page's clinical content. The review covers clinical accuracy; it is not a personal endorsement of any purchase.

Clear dates

Each content page shows when it was last reviewed. Clinical guidance and product labeling change over time, so a visible review date tells you how current the information is.

What we describe, and what we don't

We describe the product by what it is, its pharmaceutical composition and clinical specification. We don't tie our content to what a buyer might mix it with, and we don't give instructions for uses outside the product's own labeling. Where regulatory status matters, such as prescription requirements, we point to the product's official label rather than making a general claim.

Corrections

If something here is inaccurate, we want to fix it. Corrections to clinical content go back through the same review process before they are published.

Not medical advice

This site provides educational information about product composition and availability. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional, and it does not replace the instructions of the manufacturer of any medicine you are administering.
