Why the 30ml vial

The 30 mL vial holds the most volume in the common size range. It suits repeated withdrawals over time. Because the preservative allows repeated entry into the same vial, one 30 mL vial replaces several single-dose units.1 Store it at room temperature. Use aseptic technique on every withdrawal.2,3

What to check on arrival

The label says not to use the product unless the solution is clear and the seal is intact.2 Check that the lot number and expiry match the certificate of analysis. Check that the vial and flip-top seal are undamaged.

Common questions

Is the 30ml vial reusable?

It's a multiple-dose vial, so repeated withdrawals may be made using aseptic technique.1

How is it stored?

At controlled room temperature, 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77 °F).3

What's the difference from sterile water?

Sterile water for injection has no preservative and is usually single-dose; this product's benzyl alcohol allows repeated withdrawals. Learn more on our bac water overview.1
